Week 5 Discussion Questions

As of now, we do not have additional weekly discussion questions past week 5. After Chapter 1, things should be a little easier.

Instead, for now, here is our advice on running discussions:

  • (1) As you prepare for facilitating, note some passages of your own that you’d like to discuss. It can be helpful to encourage the whole group to do the same.

    (2) At the beginning of the meeting, go around the group and ask each person to note passages, ideas or similar that they would like to review. This could be things that people found confusing, that they really liked, or that they just found interesting in some way.
    – (A) If people aren’t sure what to say, you can ask what passages they highlighted, put question marks by, or have notes by. It’s fine (good in fact) if multiple people pick the same passage.
    – (B) Some people might fall behind on reading and won’t have something to discuss. There’s no shame in that. If they are behind for a couple sessions in a row, they should skip ahead to stay with the group.

    (3) Then for the rest of the meeting, go through each of the passages/ideas/etc. one by one in chronological order until you get to the end.
