Is it time to finally read Capital (or to read it again)? The answer to that question is probably yes! Together we can accomplish this daunting task, and build an understanding of value, money, surplus value, capital, and its tendencies and effects. 

Many of us already know that something is wrong with the world, and we even know that capitalism is the cause. Reading Capital can help you understand why and how capitalism works, and what might be needed to change it.

Sections (6-10 people) are encouraged to meet for 2 hours weekly and in-person, to discuss the reading. If possible, each section should include at least one person who has read Capital before. There will also be monthly lectures, in-person and recorded for later viewing, so everyone can follow along more easily.

Timeline: March to December 2025. 

Reading: All of Capital, Volume 1, by Karl Marx. About 30-50 pages per week. (we’re using the new translation)
